Autumn Squash Smoothie Bowl with Blackberries, Blueberries and Hemp Seeds

For October I created a bright orange smoothie bowl using a seasonal coquina squash & then topped it with a small handful of blueberries, blackberries & banana. I added a teablespoon of hemp seed hearts to add a slight nuttiness.

Sure to cheer you up if the weather’s a wee bit chilly or on a rainy day! It’s quite filling with the protein from the hemp seeds and the banana. Just the ticket.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup autumn coquina squash

  • 1 ½ large bananas

  • ½ cup mango (I used frozen)

  • ½ cup almond milk

  • Small handful of blueberries

  • Small handful of blackberries (again, I used frozen here)

  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds

You Will Need

  • Blender/Mixer

  • Small bowl

  • Sharp knife

Recipe Instructions

  1. Place the large banana into the blender together with the squash, mango & almond milk.

  2. Blend until smooth and pour into a small bowl.

  3. Top with the remaining banana, sliced & then add the blackberries, blueberries & hemp seeds.

Now you can sit, relax & enjoy your Autumn Squash Smoothie Bowl!


TIP

You can easily use frozen fruit now that it’s available in most supermarkets. I love to buy both mixed & single fruits in bags from the frozen section.

Alternatively, if you have a local town market you can go to they can be for buying boxes of fruit economically. If you’re starting a raw food diet then please don’t be put of by the thought of it costing more becasue it doesn’t have to be expensive. My recent market stall trip at the weekend got me a whole box of mango’s (9 mangos!) for just £1. WooHoo!
